Griffé is the result of an observation: the various labels hidden in the lining of our clothes are the most reliable witnesses of the eventful life of fashion houses. From the haute couture label to the ready-to-wear composition label, every inscription, every evolution in design has meaning. For many vintage and fashion archive professionals, they help authenticate and date a garment, sometimes more accurately than the garment itself.
